Rameswaram, Feb. 24 -- Four members of a Tamil migrant family, including two children from Sri Lanka, arrived in Tamil Nadu on Monday seeking refuge.

Official sources said the Sri Lankan Tamils, identified as B.Kalaiselvan (37), his wife Kirubana (33), their two sons Jibin (9) and Sharwin (5), hailing from Vavuniya in Sri Lanka had hired a Fiberglass boat to reach Tamil Nadu coast.

The boat operator intruded into Indian waters clandestinely and dropped the family members on the fourth Islet near Arichalmunai in Dhanushkodi and managed to escape.

An Indian Coast Guard (ICG) craft on patrol rescued and brought them to Rameswaram.

Later, they were handed over to the Coastal Security Group of Tamil Nadu Marine Police for interrogation.
