Shillong, Dec. 18 -- Four Bangladeshi nationals along with an Indian driver were arrested by Meghalaya Police in the wee hours of Thursday after a hot pursuit on the Jowai-Amlarem-Dawki road in West Jaintia Hills district.
The arrested Bangladeshi intruders identified as Saidul Gasi (18), Lemon Shutdar (24), Rison Hussain (18) and Rubel Sheik (27) all of Gasiroad, Bangladesh infiltrated into India from Dawki area with an intention to go to Assam in search of green pastures, A.J. Sangma, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Amlarem, said.
Police also arrested Chemphang Rasmut (43), the driver of a tourist taxi bearing registration number ML-04D/9309 for facilitating the illegal entry of four Bangladeshi intruders into India.
