Puducherry, March 28 -- Former Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President A V Subramanian has quit the Congress party citing private reasons ahead of the April 9 Assembly polls in the union Territory.

In a letter to PCC President V Vaithilingam, also a Lok Sabha MP, on Friday night, Subramanain said due to some private reasons and unavoidable circumstances, he was resigning from the Indian National Congress Party and also from all the posts and positions he was holding presently.
