Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct. 7 -- In a significant development in the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, former union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra 'Teni' and his son Ashish Mishra have been booked for allegedly threatening a key witness. The case has been filed following a directive from the Supreme Court, acting on a petition filed by witness Baljinder Singh.
The FIR, lodged at Palia Police Station, names four accused: Ashish Mishra, Ajay Mishra Teni, their associate Amandeep Singh, and one unidentified individual. They have been booked under sections 195A (threatening a witness), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
