Deoria, Jan. 31 -- Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who is lodged in Deoria district jail on charges of fraud, was admitted to Deoria Medical College on Saturday after his health deteriorated. He is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors.
Dr. Ajay, spokesperson for the medical college, told UNI here that Amitabh Thakur was brought to the medical college from Deoria district jail by ambulance on the advice of the jail doctor after he complained of stomach pain and anxiety. Doctors have admitted him and are treating him.
He said that the treatment is being provided by Dr. Rakesh Kumar and his team from the surgery department. Investigations suggest that the stomach pain is related to appendicitis.
