Tbilisi, Jan. 13 -- Georgia's former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has been sentenced to five years in prison and fined 1 million Georgian lari (about 370,000 U.S. dollars) over money laundering charges, local media reported on Monday.

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia said that Garibashvili pleaded guilty to the charges and agreed to the terms of a plea deal, which were subsequently upheld by the court.
