Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 20 -- Kerala Congress (M) State General Secretary K. Anandakumar has expressed serious concern over the increasing acquisition of multi-speciality hospitals in Kerala by foreign investment firms, warning that the trend could have far-reaching consequences for the state's healthcare system.
Anandakumar, a former State Coordinator of the Karunya treatment scheme, said several prominent private hospitals in Kerala have already come under the control of overseas investment companies that have no direct involvement in healthcare delivery and operate primarily with profit-oriented objectives.
