Mumbai, Jan. 23 -- Five corporators from the BJP have emerged as frontrunners in the race for the Mumbai Mayoral post, party sources said here on Friday. The reservation lottery draw on Thursday gave the opportunity to women from the general category to be the next Mumbai mayor.

No party has crossed the 114 seats majority mark in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election, but the BJP has emerged as the single largest party, winning 89 out of 227 seats, while the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena won 29 seats.
