Thrissur, Jan. 23 -- With the help of World Wildlife Trust, local fishermen have rescued three whale sharks that had been accidentally entangled in shore seine fishing nets along the coast of Thiruvananthapuram. The rescue operations took place within hours at three places -Kochuthoppu, Vettukadu and Kochuveli.
The two male and one female whale sharks measured approximately 12 feet, 16 feet and 20 feet in length. Fishers along Kerala coast have now helped save the lives of 54 whale sharks.
