Dharamshala, Dec. 22 -- The Fisheries Department has carried out a major crackdown against illegal fish sale in the Pong Reservoir area of Kangra district, registering 14 cases and recovering a fine of Rs 11,800 during a week-long special enforcement drive.
The intensive campaign was conducted under the leadership of Assistant Director Fisheries Sandeep Kumar. A special team comprising fisheries officials from Khatiyad, Sthana, Dhameta, Jawali, Barnali and Nagrota Surian inspected shops and roadside eateries across Jawali, Ghar-Jarot, Nagrota Surian, Fatehpur and adjoining areas. During inspections, several shops were found selling fish without valid bills.
