Shimla, Oct. 21 -- Amid festive enthusiasm and glittering fireworks, several fire incidents were reported across Himachal Pradesh on Diwali night, causing damage to property worth several lakhs of rupees.
A major fire broke out at the multi-storey Kasol Inn Hotel in Manikaran area of Kullu district late Sunday night, reducing its upper floors to ashes. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot which managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours of effort. Preliminary reports suggest the fire may have been triggered by fireworks. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, though losses are estimated in lakhs of rupees.
