Mainpuri, April 12 -- A major fire broke out early Sunday morning at a Bank of India branch in Mainpuri's Kurawali town, reportedly caused by a short circuit.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the server room while the bank was closed for the weekend. Locals noticed thick smoke and flames and quickly alerted the police. By the time authorities arrived, the fire had spread to the record room.
Police officials, along with bank staff and three fire brigade teams, reached the spot. After nearly two hours of effort, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. However, significant damage had already been done-furniture, air conditioners, computers, and important documents stored in the record room were completely destroyed.
