Hampi, Feb. 14 -- A fire broke out during the inauguration of the Hampi Festival as Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took the stage, creating a tense moment for attendees. The blaze was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported.

Addressing the gathering on Friday, Siddaramaiah announced that the festival, also known as Hampi Utsav or Vijaya Utsav, will now be held annually on November 3, 4, and 5. He also paid tribute to the late former Minister MP Prakash, who had envisioned a grand festival in Hampi inspired by the Mysore Dasara celebrations.
