Prayagraj, Feb. 22 -- Following the POCSO court's order in a sexual abuse case against Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati in Prayagraj, late last night, an FIR has been registered against him at the Jhunsi police station.
The police registered the FIR under several sections, including sections 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act.
Other sections are 351(3), 563, 4(2), 16 and 17 of the BNS.
Ashutosh Brahmachari, a disciple of Tulsi Peethadhishwar Swami Rambhadracharya, had alleged sexual abuse.
A complaint was filed at the Jhunsi police station on behalf of two alleged minor victims. When the FIR was not registered, an application was filed in the district court under Section 173 (4) on January 28.
