Ranchi, Feb. 22 -- An FIR has been lodged against Jharkhand Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi in Giridih for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the silence period ahead of municipal polling.

The complaint was filed at the Nagar Police station by the Flying Squad Team (FST). Confirming the development, station in-charge Gyan Ranjan said on Sunday that the case pertains to an alleged gathering at a hotel after campaigning officially ended at 5 pm on February 21.
