Nashik, Jan. 11 -- A wild animal, a leopard, was found injured near pole number 179/32 on the Mumbai-bound (Up line) track near Devlali railway station in Bhagur, Nashik.

Train services were therefore halted.

A wildlife rescue team from the Nashik Forest Range immediately reached the spot. After the injured leopard was removed, train traffic resumed.

The leopard had sustained very serious head injuries in the train collision, and one of its legs was completely severed. The wildlife veterinarian and his team from the Nashik Division rescue team arrived at the scene and provided first aid.
