Chandigarh, Feb. 6 -- Father of IPS officer Rahul Balhara, Jaipal, allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his licensed pistol at the local Grain Market on Friday evening. The 60-year-old commission agent was seated outside his shop when the incident occurred.
According to police, Jaipal had arrived at his shop, number 38, earlier in the morning as per his routine. Around 4pm, while sitting on a chair outside his premises, he reportedly produced his firearm and shot himself in the head. Fellow traders, who were playing cards nearby, rushed to the spot upon hearing the gunshot and found him lying in a pool of blood.
He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals declared him dead on arrival....
