Madrid, Jan. 21 -- Spanish football has been affected by a high-speed train crash in the south of Spain on Sunday which has so-far claimed 42 lives, with the news that the father of Getafe defender David Cordon Manche 'Davinchi' was one of the victims.
David Cordon Sr was travelling back from Madrid to his home town of Huelva on one of the two trains involved in the collision outside of the small town of Adamuz, close to the city of Cordoba.
He had spent the weekend with his 18-year-old son (who is currently injured) and watched Getafe's 1-0 defeat at home to Valencia on Sunday before catching the train from Madrid's Puerta de Atocha railway station.
