Nagpur, Jan. 14 -- In a horrifying incident here, a man allegedly killed his eight-year-old daughter to prevent her custody from being transferred to his estranged wife, police officials said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Wathoda police station.
The accused has been identified as Shekhar Krishnarao Shendre (46), a resident of Sarode Nagar. The victim was his daughter, Dhanashree.
According to police, Shekhar was living in a rented house with his mother, Kusumtai and his younger brother, Umesh (45).
He had been involved in frequent disputes with his wife, Shubhangi, following which the couple began living separately.
Despite the separation, Shekhar kept their daughter with him.
