Chandigarh, Sept. 11 -- Two explosions occurred in Jida village, Bathinda district, on the morning of September 10, leaving a father and son injured. Punjab Police were informed of the incident 24 hours later when the victims were admitted to a private hospital in Bathinda with serious injuries.

According to SSP Bathinda Amneet Kondal, the explosions were caused by a chemical experiment gone wrong.

The victims were identified as Gurpreet Singh, 19, and his father Jagtar Singh.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Jagtar Singh had ordered a chemical online, which triggered the first blast during an experiment, severely injuring Gurpreet Singh.
