Agartala, Dec. 18 -- Police have launched a search operation for a middle-aged man from Tripura's Khowai district, accused of killing his seven-year-old daughter on Wednesday night.
According to family members, Asish Debnath, a resident of the Sonatola locality in Khowai, allegedly attacked his daughter, Akhi Debnath, with a sharp weapon, resulting in her death.
Sources revealed that the accused has been struggling with mental health issues, particularly after his wife deserted him. It is said that she eloped with another person, leaving their daughter behind. Since then, the family had been facing ongoing troubles.
