Jerusalem, Oct. 13 -- Far-right officials within Israel have been extremely sceptical of the ceasefire deal, and while they expressed joy over the return of hostages, they voiced misgivings over the truce, owing to the release of convicted terrorists in exchange - terming it both a victory and a defeat.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, a long-time critic of the deal posted a short message on X, "And the children shall return to their border," as the first seven Israeli hostages were released and transferred into IDF custody, despite having voted against the deal that secured their release.
