Palghar, Oct. 24 -- A tribal woman from Palghar district lost her newborn during delivery at Mokhada Rural Hospital, with her family alleging that medical negligence caused the tragedy.
Relatives claimed that no doctor was available for nearly twelve hours and that only nursing staff attended to the patient during labour.
The incident occurred on October 22, when 25-year-old Vaishali Ashok Batre was admitted for childbirth. Her husband alleged that despite repeated requests, a doctor did not attend to his wife in time, leading to the death of their newborn.
The family further claimed that hospital authorities later transferred the mother and deceased infant to Khodala Primary Health Centre without a proper explanation.
