Thiruvananthapuram, July 19 -- Adulterated coconut oil in Kerala poses serious health risks, primarily due to the addition of cheap, low-grade oils mixed without proper labelling, thereby exposing consumers to significant health hazards.
Over the past few years, analyses by government laboratories have revealed the presence of hydrolytic rancidity, elevated acid values, and traces of non-edible oil in several locally marketed coconut oil brands, sources told UNI.
