Nagpur, Jan. 15 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday cast his vote in Nagpur and urged citizens to participate in large numbers in the ongoing civic elections, emphasising that active voter participation is essential for building better cities.

After voting in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections, Fadnavis told reporters that choosing not to vote amounts to shirking one's civic duty.

Polling was held on Thursday for 29 municipal corporations across Maharashtra, including major cities such as Mumbai and Nagpur.

"I urge everyone to exercise their right to vote to help create better cities," the Chief Minister said.
