Caracas, Jan. 3 -- : A series of loud explosions and the sound of aircraft were reported across Venezuela's capital city Caracas in the early hours on Saturday, creating panic among residents. According to international news agency sources, people in several parts of Caracas were woken up by powerful blasts followed by noises resembling low-flying planes.
Witnesses reported seeing flashes in the sky and columns of smoke rising from certain areas of the city, particularly near strategic and military locations. Many residents stepped out of their homes in fear, while others shared accounts of shaking buildings and broken calm during the night, reports say.
