Lucknow, Feb. 15 -- Prominent Muslim leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui has joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) putting to rest all speculations about his future move after he resigned from Congress party last month. A prominent Muslim face and a four-time minister in UP, Siddiqui was one of the founding members of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in UP in the past.

Siddiqui announced his decision to join Samajwadi Party (SP) in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday. Yadav welcomed Siddiqui and his followers into the party.

SP President Yadav gave Siddiqui and other leaders membership of the party. Siddiqui's wife also accepted SP membership.
