Brussels, Sept. 29 -- The EU, in light of the recent UN move to reimpose all economic sanctions pre-2015, confirmed today that it has followed through with the measure and reimposed sweeping financial sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, after the global body determined that Tehran was non-compliant with the dictates of the deal.
"Today, the EU reinstated sanctions against Iran in response to its continued non-compliance with the nuclear agreement. The door for diplomatic negotiations remains open," said the EU presidency in an official statement.
