New Delhi, Dec. 19 -- Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav advised the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to ban construction and demolition activities in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) during the winter months to tackle the air pollution crisis that intensifies during this time of the year.
The directions were issued to the CAQM officials during a review meeting chaired by the Minister held on Friday. According to an official communication, the minister also advised CAQM to issue guidance to Municipal Bodies to not permit demolition activities for the rest of the year unless C&D waste collection sub-centres are available within a 10 km radius.
