Shimla, Feb. 20 -- BJP State Media co-convenor Karn Nanda on Thursday criticised the Himachal Pradesh government's decision to introduce a revised entry fee structure and FASTag-based collection system from April 1, 2026, terming it a move that would place an additional financial burden on residents and visitors.
In a statement here on Friday, Nanda said the increase in entry fees for private vehicles from other states-from Rs 70 to Rs 130-and the imposition of charges of up to Rs 170 on small goods vehicles reflected what he described as a revenue-driven approach.
He alleged that the government was seeking to augment its income by increasing levies rather than promoting economic activity.
