Colombo, Feb. 27 -- Spinners shared six wickets as England restricted New Zealand to 159 for seven in the Super 8 clash of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the R Premadasa Stadium here on Friday.

After New Zealand opted to bat, Tim Seifert and Finn Allen provided a blazing start, propelling the side to 54 in the powerplay.

Allen dispatched Jofra Archer's slower ball over mid-on and lofted Liam Dawson down the ground, while Seifert mixed innovation with power, including a flat-batted slap over cover and a fierce pull into the stands. The pair added 64 in 6.6 overs to seize early control.

England's spin trio then flipped the script. Adil Rashid struck first, slowing it through the air to lure Seifert out for a stumping on 35.
