Lucknow, Feb. 19 -- Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), saying that the SP governments in the past had kept UP in a "sick state." He claimed that due to the efforts of the current government, per capita electricity consumption in the state has reached 724 units, an all-time high.
This is the first time in the state's history that electricity rates have not increased by a single paisa for six consecutive years.
