Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- The Budget Session of the Maharashtra Legislature began here today in a charged atmosphere as leaders of the ruling alliance as well as the opposition expressed strong emotions as they remembered late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar after a condolence motion was moved on the inaugural day of the session in both the Legislative Assembly as well as the Legislative Council.
The Budget Session will continue till March 25 and the Maharashtra state budget will be presented on March 6 by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who retained the Finance portfolio after the demise of Ajit Pawar who used to head the Finance ministry when he was Deputy CM.
