Bhubaneswar, Jan. 25 -- Eminent Odia music director, composer, and playback singer Abhijit Majumdar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Sunday while undergoing treatment following a massive cardiac arrest after a prolonged illness.
He was 54.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar, in an official statement, said Majumdar was admitted to the hospital on September 4, 2025, with multiple comorbid conditions, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, and chronic liver disease.
According to the hospital, he suffered a massive cardiac arrest at 7:43 am on January 25, 2026. Despite sustained resuscitative efforts, he failed to respond and was clinically declared dead at 9:02 am.
