Chandigarh, Oct. 9 -- union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated India's first commercial electric truck battery swapping and charging station at Panchhi Gujran village in Sonipat district.
The facility, developed by Energy in Motion, has been set up at the Delhi International Cargo Terminal (DICT). union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, was also present during the inauguration.
Addressing the gathering, Gadkari termed the initiative "a landmark step toward energy self-reliance," emphasising that India currently spends around Rs 25 lakh crore annually on fuel imports.
