Kolkata, Sept. 28 -- In yet another tragic incident, a 62-year-old woman died of electrocution today while attempting to open her shop, which was waterlogged on September 23 due to heavy rains that had already claimed 10 lives in the city.
Police identified the victim as Sumanti Devi, a resident of Khudiram Pally under Sarsuna police station in South Kolkata.
She was electrocuted while trying to open the iron shutter of her shop, which still had accumulated water after the locality was flooded on September 23.
Two others who attempted to rescue her were also injured, as the entire shutter was electrified.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when she tried to reopen her waterlogged shop.
