Kendrapara, Feb. 14 -- In a tragic incident, a 76-year-old man lost his life and five others were injured after a swarm of bees attacked villagers at Jagulaipada under Rajkanika police station limits in Odisha's Kendrapara district.
The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal (76), a resident of Jagulaipada village. Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Rajkanika police station, Sanjay Kumar Mallick, confirmed the incident.
According to sources, the swarm of bees suddenly emerged from a tree near the village school and attacked locals who were passing along the road.
Six people sustained injuries in the attack and were rushed to the Rajkanika Community Health Centre for treatment.
