Firozabad, Jan. 19 -- An elderly couple riding a scooter was killed on the spot after being run over by a dumper truck on Monday afternoon in Shikohabad town of Firozabad district.
The accident occurred near Etah Chauraha when the dumper, reportedly coming at high speed from behind, hit the scooter and dragged it for nearly 100 meters. Both riders fell onto the road and were crushed under the vehicle, resulting in instant death. The incident caused panic in the area.
The dumper driver attempted to flee but was stopped by passersby, who handed him over to the police.
