Bhubaneswar, Dec. 18 -- The Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday arrested eight staff of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) here and produced three Children in Conflict with Law (CCLs) before the Juvenile Justice Board in the wake of the murder of a 9th grade tribal student in the institution's hostel.

The victim Shiba Munda (14) was murdered at KISS, Bhubaneswar boys' hostel.

He was allegedly beaten up, throttled and strangulated on the night of December 11 after he refused to give a bucket in the toilet block, police said.

However, the authorities of the institution suppressed the murder. Authorities, including teachers and staff, were found to have intimidated and threatened minor witnesses to conceal the crime....
