Chennai, Feb. 24 -- The iconic Chennai Egmore Railway Station, one of the four major intercity terminals in Chennai and a historic landark of the city, is undergoing modern trasnfomation thereby preserving its Gothic architechtural heritage.
Southern Railway sources said the station has been undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment aimed at transforming it into a modern, integrated and passenger-friendly transport hub while preserving its historic Gothic architectural heritage.
Built between 1906-1908 as the terminus of the South Indian Railway Company, the station remains one of the most prominent landmarks of the city.
