Nawada, March 18 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary today said that efforts are underway to set up a nuclear power plant in Nawada, which is expected to provide affordable electricity and generate large-scale employment.

Addressing a public gathering at ITI Maidan during the 'Samriddhi Yatra' of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Choudhary said Nawada, once known as a Naxal-affected region, has now transformed into an area witnessing peace and development.

He emphasised that development is closely linked with road infrastructure, adding that Bihar's road network has undergone a significant transformation in recent years.
