New Delhi, Feb. 26 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today said that it has placed the prosecution sanction order, received from the competent authority, against P. Chidambaram, the former union Finance Minister, in the Aircel-Maxis deal before the special PMLA court here.
The ED initiated a PMLA investigation based on an FIR (first information report) registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Aircel-Maxis case against Chidambaram and others for offences punishable under Section 120-B read with Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and Sections 8, 13(2) and 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
