Kolkata, March 16 -- After the removal of the state's top bureaucratic and police leadership, the Election Commission is likely to tighten its scrutiny of the administrative machinery in West Bengal ahead of the Assembly elections, as the poll body has now sought a detailed list of recent police transfers.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in West Bengal has written to the state police asking for a report on transfers of police officers carried out during March.
The Commission has directed the state police to submit the detailed report by 11 am on Monday.
However, it is not yet known whether the state police have submitted the report to the Commission.
