Bhubaneswar, Jan. 20 -- East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced plans to construct 96 Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) across Odisha entirely at its own expense, under the new Railway Policy, official sources said on Tuesday.
ROBs play a crucial role in strengthening the state's road network. Replacing railway level crossings with ROBs helps reduce traffic congestion, save travel time, and enhance safety for both people and property.
A high-level review meeting was recently held in Bhubaneswar, attended by senior officials from ECoR and the Works Department, to assess progress on 166 ROBs proposed on Works Department roads across Odisha. The review noted that progress on these projects had been slow in recent years.
