Mumbai, Sept. 12 -- Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved the proposal to rehabilitate residents of two buildings to be affected by demolition of Elphinstone Bridge into MHADA flats available in the same locality.
A total of 83 project-affected families from Laxmi Nivas and Haji Nurani Chawl will now be rehabilitated in the same area.
With the approval of this proposal, the residents of these affected buildings will get much-needed relief.
For the construction of the Worli-Sewri connector, the Elphinstone Bridge will be demolished, and during the erection of pillars, the Laxmi Nivas and Haji Nurani Chawl buildings will be impacted.
The project-affected residents had demanded rehabilitation in nearby MHADA flats.
