Jammu, June 28 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two narcotic smugglers with contraband of poppy straw and heroin in Udhampur and Jammu districts.
A spokesman today said that a police team of Rehambal led by SHO Purab Choudhary, while on patrolling duty at a naka point Flata, intercepted a suspicious person on way from Garnai towards Tikri.
The suspect tried to escape on seeing the police. "On frisking of Rafaqat Hussain, a resident of Kouri, Judda, Reasi, 4.496 kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession. He was arrested," police said.
In another incident, police recovered 9.80 grams of heroin from a narcotic smuggler in Bishnah area of Jammu.
