Malda, April 4 -- : In a bizarre incident, a drone was spotted flying near the helicopter of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Malatipur of Malda on Saturday afternoon, prompting security concerns and an immediate call for investigation.
The incident occurred when Banerjee was about to board her helicopter after addressing a public meeting in Malatipur, her second rally of the day in the district.
She had earlier addressed a gathering in Manikchak and was scheduled to leave for Gazole for her third rally.
As she approached the helicopter at the helipad, a drone was seen hovering in front of it.
Noticing the device, the Chief Minister paused and, taking the microphone, instructed the police to closely monitor the matter.
