New Delhi, April 14 -- Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker, Vijender Gupta remembered Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, stating that Baba Saheb was a staunch advocate of equality and social justice.

He paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar's statue situated in the Vidhan Sabha, and a function was also organized in the complex to mark the 136th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, who is also called the architect of the Indian Constitution.

Highlighting Baba Saheb's legacy, Gupta described the Constitution as a unique and visionary document that continues to guide the democratic framework of the nation.

Gupta said that Ambedkar's ideas were forward looking, and remain deeply relevant in contemporary times.
