Jalaun, April 21 -- In Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district, a dispute over crop division led to the deaths of two brothers in Rampura police station area, officials said on Tuesday. According to police, the incident took place in Mirzapur Jagir village, where 70-year-old Jai Narayan Chaturvedi's three sons had been in dispute over the sharing of agricultural produce.
On Monday evening, the brothers gathered in the field for wheat harvesting when an argument escalated. The middle son, Jitendra alias Allu (33), allegedly shot his elder brother Kailash (43) with a country-made pistol, killing him on the spot. Enraged by the incident, the father and the youngest son attacked Jitendra with sticks, beating him to death.
