Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 5 -- Kerala BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar today said that the party will urge the Governor not to sign the ordinance proposed by the state government to extend the tenure of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) by one more year.

He alleged that the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government was attempting to protect those involved in the Sabarimala gold misappropriation scandal by granting the current Board an extended term.

"Despite shameful corruption and mismanagement coming to light, the government is trying to shield those who looted the gold of Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple," Chandrasekhar said.
